This event is the 9th annual California Gymkhana Association River Run 2 day show, hosted by Los Vaqueros, District 35. The event will take place at Jake’s Place Arena, 13141 Sierra Way, Kernville, CA 93238. We will be running all 13 events over the two days of May 12th and 13th. The order of events is listed on the entry form. Sign-ups start at 8:00am and the show will start at 9:00am. All riders are required to check in prior to their first event of each day.
There will be an award for 1st through 5th place in each event for each division. High Point and Reserve High Point awards for each division will be awarded at the end of the 2nd day. Leadline will be its own class with special awards given. Overall High Point for all divisions will be awarded at the end of the 2nd day. The Overall High Point winner will not be eligible for Divisional High Point awards. Riders will earn points only in the division they are entered in and one division higher. Points earned at this show will count towards Los Vaqueros year-end awards, therefore local club members must sign up in the division they normally ride in. CGA requires all riders to sign up in the division in which they have rated. Refund Policy: No refunds without a letter from a medical doctor or veterinarian. No refunds after 1st event is run. Refund deadline is June 13, 2018.
Overnight dry camping is provided by Jake’s Place Arena. Horses are not allowed to be tied to a trailer or a high line overnight. Water is available, but please bring your own bucket. Limited number of stalls are available. Stalls will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis. Send your check to Richard Jacobson, PO Box 525, Kernville, CA 93238. Stalls are $15 per night, if you are camping and, $20 per night if you are not. All dogs must be on a leash! A snack bar will be open during the show offering drinks, snacks, and food items.
Release of Liability
The California Gymkhana Association, Inc and cosponsoring organization, if any, will not be responsible for any accident that may occur to be caused by any horse competing at the show, or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed or in any way damaged. Each competitor will be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person or animal or damage to any property while on the grounds by any horse owned, or in his custody, or control, and shall indemnify and hold harmless the California Gymkhana Association, its officials and directors individually and collectively, and cosponsoring organizations, clubs and arena owners, if any, from and against all charges and expenses of every kind and nature whatsoever arising out of or which may be incurred by reason of any accident, injury, or damage to person or property caused by ownership, competition or custody or control of any animal competition. In signing this release, please bear in mind that gymkhana is a contest of speed, that there is a certain element of danger involved, and that you will be riding at your own risk. In addition, I certify that I’m either an Individual or Family Member of the California Gymkhana Association.
